In Milwaukee, there are about as many races as they are running trails – that is to say, a lot! Here, we’ll highlight upcoming events that are well worth the miles.
Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon
When: Sunday, October 1, 7:30am
Where: Grafton High School, 1950 Gateway Dr, Grafton
Details: Hosted by the Badgerland Striders, this is a race that Milwaukee distance runners won’t want to miss. The point-to-point scenic course takes runners from Grafton High School to Veteran’s Park. All participants get an event shirt and finisher’s medal. Awards will be given to overall winners and age group winners. In addition, RRCA and USATF awards will be given.
Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon 5k
When: Sunday, October 1, 8am
Where: Veteran’s Park, Milwaukee
Cost: $20 for Strider members; $25 for non-Striders
Details: Hosted by the Badgerland Striders, this timed race is perfect for runners and walkers of all abilities. All participants get a custom race belt, race shirt, bakery from Papas Bakery, coffee, finisher medals, plus beer at the finish line! Awards will be given to overall, masters and age group winners.
When: Saturday, October 15 & Sunday, October 16
Where: Harley Davidson Museum, Milwaukee
Cost: Price varies by distance
Details: Formerly known as the Milwaukee Running Festival, this race features marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k and 1-mile distances. Runners will enjoy scenic courses that are run entirely through the streets of Milwaukee. Awards will be given to overall and age group winners.
