Last year’s inaugural Brewers Mini Marathon sold out well before race day. With a course that runs around and through Miller Park and a post-race tailgate party featuring live music, food and beer, everyone wanted to run this race!
This year’s event will be just as exciting, especially with the addition of a 10k race. Below, Anna Ryan from Vision Event Management, talks about what runners can expect at this year’s race.

With all the fall half marathons in the area, what makes the Brewers Mini standout?
We believe the course is second to none and brings runners past many Milwaukee landmarks, including the Harley-Davidson Museum, Marquette University, The Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes), through the Miller Valley and finally through Miller Park around the warning track on the field. In addition, all participants receive a ticket voucher for a future Brewers game and are invited to a post-race tailgate party.
Is there anything new or different happening at the race this year?
We have moved the start/finish area onto Frederic Miller Way. This year, we also have a seeded start corral. And of course, the new 10K addition to the race.
What prompted the decision to add a 10k race?
This was an opportunity to get more people involved with the shorter distance. It was always our plan to add it after we got the event off the ground.
What’s the course like?
The course is wide and open. It’s fairly flat as well with only a couple of small elevation changes. For Milwaukee, it’s a flat course. The route through Miller Park is amazing and great inspiration as you approach the finish. The other fun aspect is that you can see Miller Park from about 90 percent of the course, so it’s always off in the distance, even at the furthest point.
Can you tell us a bit about the decision to partner with the MACC Fund?
There are a number of worthy charities, however we felt the MACC Fund was the right partner for our race. We felt we needed to partner with a very active charity, one that wanted to be involved in our race in a meaningful way. John Cary and his staff have really taken an ownership position with our race help contribute to the success of the overall event. Anyone who would like to donate to the MACC Fund through the Brewers Mini-Marathon & 10K can do so by going to http://www.brewersmini.com and clicking on the FUNDRAISE tab.
