The 4th of July is a popular holiday for runners to race. In case you’re still deciding where you’ll run, here’s a quick round-up of races happening in the Milwaukee area:
Dennis Krzykowski Memorial 5K Run
When: Friday, July 4, 7:30am
Where: Cedar Creek Park, Cedarburg
Cost: Varies by race distance and age
Details: This race is chip timed and a USATF certified course. All participants receive a race t-shirt. Medals are awarded to the top race finishers. In addition to the 5k run, there is a 2k walk.

Firecracker Four
When: Friday, July 4, 8am
Where: Hales Corners Park, Hales Corners
Cost: Varies by race distance, age and membership
Details: Runners can pick between a 4 mile run/walk and a 1.7 mile community fun run. All participants receive an event t-shirt, free pool access and post-race food and refreshments. The four-mile race is chip timed and awards are given to the overall male and female winners plus the top three in each age group.

River City 4th Fest 5k
When: Friday, July 4, 8am
Where: Whitford Park, Waterford
Cost: $20
Details: This race features a fast and flat USATF certified 5k course. Special awards are given to the first place overall male and female finishers. Medals are awarded to the first five in each age group.
