We recently came across this amusing little eCard from www.ilovetorun.org:
Obvi it’s all in good fun, but it got us thinking: Does it matter to you if your significant other runs? Also, does speed play a role in how attractive you find another runner?
Three . . . two . . . one . . . Discuss!
Keep Running MKE – you’re doing great!
I think as long as he/she is fully supportive of your own running lifestyle, and together you make health and wellness a priority, whether it be running or something else, you shouldn’t pigeonhole yourself into only dating other runners. My guy and I have a lot of hobbies in common, and we each have some other interests on the side. I think it makes for a healthy balance.
It really helps if your significant other is at least interested in physical fitness. If they aren’t, they won’t understand the hours you spend training. My boyfriend and I only run together once in awhile but we do bike together quite often and support each other at the other’s races. We both have other hobbies that are separate interests but it’s nice to have the running/biking in common!
It helps if your significant other is at least interested in physical fitness; otherwise, they won’t understand the hours you spend training. My ex-husband never got that. My boyfriend and I run together once in awhile and also bike together. We try to go to each other’s races for support as well. We both have other hobbies that are separate interests but it’s nice to have the common interest of running/biking/triathlon. It was what brought us together to begin with!
